Our son suffered continued race hate and bullying from a group of year 7 pupils at Heathfield Community School, These pupils carried on these actions into year 8. Despite plenty of complaints to heads of year, pastoral care, behaviour heads, head of school, IEB the school and these. Despite these meetings being attended by the Police, and SARI, and Despite numerous calls to the head of school from Education Social Services the school did nothing to safeguard our child. When we eventually took our child out of school They made it as difficult as the could for us to place our child in another school with statements made to Somerset Council which were outright lies.

Perhaps we all have a different story to tell but with a similar outcome no Support from the school, your child affected by bullying, or any other care requirement which requires the intervention of schools safeguarding, pastoral care. I don't believe that there'll ever really be an end to bullying.  However I do belive that when our children spend more than 60% of their waking time at heathfield they have a duty to ensure your child is safe from bullying and has their educational needs met. They do not deserve to be in an environment where the actions of the people charged with education and safeguarding behave with an ineptitude that is tandemount to incompetence which borders on negligence.
