🏢 Secure Our Building: Gate the Public Walkway at 23-25 Mill Street Slough
The Issue
🏢 Secure Our Building: Gate the Public Walkway at Imperial Central, 23–25 Mill Street, Slough, for Safety
To: Slough Borough Council (Cllr Ejaz Ahmed, Cllr Dhruv Tomar) & Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing (MTVH)
We, the residents of Imperial Central, 23–25 Mill Street, Slough, are calling on Slough Borough Council and MTVH to take urgent action to gate the Adrian Walk passage, which runs directly through our residential building.
Although marketed as a luxury development, this publicly accessible walkway has become a serious and long-standing safety issue.
Adrian Walk allows unrestricted access through the building 24/7, and as a result, it has become a hotspot for:
Homeless squatting in shared spaces (bike and bin storage)
Frequent damage to entry doors and repeated triggering of building alarms
Loitering, littering, and loud, disruptive behaviour
Theft and other suspected criminal activity
An ongoing sense of insecurity for residents, especially at night
Drug use in shared spaces, creating a serious health risk for children and adults who may inadvertently come into contact with discarded substances or syringes
What’s especially concerning is that Thames Valley Police have repeatedly recommended installing gates at both ends of the passage to help reduce these incidents.
Despite this, nothing has changed in nearly two years, and the situation continues to affect residents' safety and quality of life.
We believe this situation qualifies for a Gating Order or action under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.
As a community, we are now formally requesting:
✅ Approval for secure gates on both ends of Adrian Walk
✅ Closure of the passageway during overnight hours (e.g., midnight to 6am)
✅ Active collaboration between MTVH, the Council, and residents to protect and secure the property
We are proud of our homes, but we can no longer ignore the constant issues caused by this open public access. We urgently need the support of local authorities to fix this.
Please help us restore safety and dignity to our homes.
