Recently, my children and their friends frequent the Browns Plains skatepark daily and have become targets of distressing incidents involving younger youth. There have been instances where kids are bashed, making it a daunting experience for children and parents alike. Unfortunately, the authorities have not been able to offer sufficient solutions, leaving it up to a few concerned parents to supervise the area. Every child deserves to feel secure and carefree while enjoying this vital community space.

The Browns Plains skatepark is not just a recreational facility; it is a gathering place for our children and families. It's where they develop skills, make friendships, and enjoy healthy physical activity. However, these recent safety concerns are discouraging, and something must be done to ensure the area remains inviting and secure for everyone.

Installing CCTV cameras is a crucial step towards creating a safer environment. With increased surveillance, we can deter potential incidents of violence or vandalism and provide a means to swiftly respond if needed. Furthermore, upgrading the lighting around the skatepark is essential to ensure visibility during the darker hours and to discourage any illicit activities that might occur under the cover of darkness.

We also propose the addition of bubblers, barbecues, and seating areas around the skatepark. These amenities would encourage families to spend more time in the area and create a community-friendly environment where everyone can partake in the enjoyment of outdoor activities.
