Hello Wonderful Supporters,
We urgently need more signatures while Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, the most recognized political supporter of the $2million dollar feasibility study to tear down the 90 freeway, is in Washington, DC this week meeting with White House officials including the Department of Transportation Assistant Secretary Christopher Coes.
Our 6,200+ and growing voices should be the validating foundation of Mayor Bass's statement in the My News LA article “... I thank my partners on the City Council for joining me on this trip to amplify the voice of Angelenos on the national scale." Our collective voices and opposing comments stated on this petition should be enough reasons for Mayor Bass to rescind her support for the Marina Central Park feasibility study federal grant application while she's in Washington, DC meeting with the US Department of Transportation Assistant Secretary Christopher Coes.
Mayor Bass is using her federal government connections to advocate for Michael Schnieder's personal Marina Central Park concept dream without listening to thousands of Los Angeles County and City constituent voices who "oppose" wasting $2 million dollars on an unpopular feasibility study aimed at tearing down the CA 90 freeway. Tearing down the 90 Freeway will greatly impact and create immediate and future harm in three of the most affluent African American communities in the nation, Ladera Heights, Windsor Hills/View Park and Baldwin Hills. Mr. Schneider didn't care enough about us to ask our input. He didn't even know we existed!
The CA 90 Freeway is located in Los Angeles Council District 11 represented by Councilmember Traci Park, the only political official who has reached out to her constituents with a survey asking for their feedback prior to her taking a position on this very unpopular federal grant proposal. YAY Traci! Thank you.
Councilmember Park is with Mayor Karen Bass in Washington, DC advocating for additional resources to meet the city’s most pressing needs. The Marina Central Park feasibility study IS NOT a pressing need for Los Angeles constituents and communities. Therefore the $2 million dollar grant application to study something we do not want should be DECLINED!
Please continue sharing and promoting this petition which has become the national voice for the Los Angeles County and City communities of: Ladera Heights, Windsor Hills, Marina del Rey, Playa del Rey, Westchester, Del Rey, Playa Vista, Venice, Inglewood and Los Angeles Council District 11 communities represented by Councilmember Traci Park.
I am forever grateful for your support!
