L.A. Metro has moved its Purple Line subway 800 feet, requiring massive tunneling directly under a high school and through 70-80 abandoned and unmapped oil wells. This detour will likely disturb pockets of deadly methane gas and hydrogen sulfide, risking the lives and health of students and faculty.

President Donald Trump and U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine L. Chao must stop this dangerous threat by withholding federal funds from Section 2 of the Purple Line extension in order to give all parties a chance to evaluate and agree upon other, safer options for the subway extension.
