Mr Chris Mitchell defended his Arts teacher, Mr Darren Ferguson, who pointing to the only black boy in his art class at Elstree UTC asked him "I don't meet single you out, how you feel if I called you a nigger?" 

The boy concerned complained, his classmates complained, his mother was absolutely furious. You can read all about this case here.  When challenged by a group of concerned pupils, Mr Mitchell told them, "I call all my black friends niggers all the time," adding "I can say that word. The white man invented it". 

Suffice to say it is entirely unacceptable that a British head teacher would condone or defend the use of the word 'nigger' as being in any acceptable in every day language or as a term of 'endearment'.  

I ask that you support this effort to have this teacher removed as head of Elstree UTC. It cannot be right to have an individual who is so clearly lacking in any professionalism and sensitivity. Mr Mitchell does not have cross-cultural competence required to teach a dynamic, multicultural, diverse community.
