Current Challenges at FCI Berlin Since his transfer from USP McCreary, Leon has faced significant institutional obstacles that threaten his rehabilitation and clemency prospects: * Retaliatory Special Monitoring: He has been placed under special monitoring (SMI) based on an incident from six years ago—an issue that was previously resolved and had been removed at his former facility. * Communication Barriers: Due to the SMI status and limited phone access, our communication is restricted to 4–10 day intervals, creating unnecessary strain. * Hostile Environment: The facility frequently employs collective punishment, such as unit-wide shakedowns and lockdowns.
