Affordable housing has been an growing issue on the Sunshine Coast for years now but nothing is being done or fast enough. Many working people on the sunshine coast are being displaced and not able to find housing. There is plenty of building being done on the coast but the issue of affordable housing seems to be put aside constantly and I am starting a petition to my local government to start making changes for myself and others that aren’t able to find housing and are looking at becoming homeless if they want to stay and continue working on the coast or have to leave and start all over again which is even more expensive. I have never done anything like this but it’s a issue and I am scared of not being able to keep my job and have any security that I have worked hard to have and maintain as well as have seen and heard of countless others in the same boat.. something needs to be done or change. Why do we have huge Multi million dollar homes being built that are sitting empty and money being invested in the community but nothing being done to maintain housing for the working class. 

I have fought hard to be able to work and have my job and career here in healthcare and has allot of stress during COVID working to make sure our hospital is supplied for our community but yet I am looking at becoming homeless now? I feel a change needs to be made not just for me but countless others as well that don’t have their voices heard.
