Utahns for Net Neutrality

Utahns for Net Neutrality
The Issue
"I am a big advocate of what is known as net neutrality. This means that [internet service] providers are compelled to transmit content without political or commercial pre-selection."-Thomas de Maiziere
According to the Hill, a whopping 83% of voters support net neutrality-the concept that internet service providers, such as Comcast or Verizon, cannot limit your access to websites that you choose to visit. Despite the bipartisan support for net neutrality, Federal Communications Commission (FCC) chairman, Ajit Pai, advocated and successfully took down the very framework that has historically prevented our internet access from being limited by large corporations. Simply put, net neutrality means that everyone gets an equal chance to be heard on the internet. By taking this away, Ajit Pai confirms his belief that corporations voices are more important than individuals voices.
Without net neutrality, you could be forced to pay a substantial fee to visit social media sites or even see a delay when visiting certain websites, like this one.
Quite frankly, we can do better. Because of this belief in our right to be heard and our right to access information equally, we encourage the Utah Attorney General, Sean Reyes, to join the 16 other states in legally fighting for a truly free and open internet.
