Sea World animal shows should be shut down

The issue

It is imperative that SeaWorld's animal shows be discontinued. The exploitation of marine animals for entertainment purposes is unethical and inhumane. These shows not only subject the animals to unnatural living conditions, but also pose a significant risk to their physical and mental well-being. SeaWorld keeps their animals in small cages and forces them to perform. Corky is one of those animals. He is an orca that was abducted from her family as a baby and then impregnated seven times. Six times with the sperm of her cousin. Six of her calves also died shortly after birth, the longest surviving 47 days. Today she is locked in a small tank at Seaworld, swimming in small, endless circles, despite the hundreds of thousands of people who have called on the company to release her. The confinement and forced performances of these creatures is a clear violation of their basic rights. Furthermore, the educational value of these shows is questionable, as they often perpetuate harmful stereotypes and misconceptions about marine life. It is time for SeaWorld to prioritize the welfare of these animals and end their use in entertainment shows.
