Most parents (myself included as a single mother of 3) cannot afford to take their children on holiday outside of term times, when travel companies almost treble their prices! It's unfair and children suffer. I wanted to take the children and my mother, their grandmother on a final holiday before she passed away 3 months later. After explaining the situation to the school, I was refused permission or be heavily fined. 

I ask the government to lower and cap prices on travel companies during school holidays so parents do not feel pressured to take their children out of school during term times
