The geofencing issue is not unique to the UK!

Frustrated Brits,

Many thanks for signing this campaign, you sign the campaign (not the petition). As you already know, the IP-address and currency geofencing issues are not unique to the UK; US users struggle to get signatures from Canada and Mexico, Australian users struggle to get signatures from New Zealand and Vanuatu, Irish users struggle to get signatures from Northern Ireland, Malaysian users struggle to get signatures from Singapore  and Japanese users struggle to get signatures from China and South Korea.

This geofencing does not take in to account distance and the random international signatures that have appeared on my CSV sheets have been quite absurd across my multiple campaigns. I run a hyper-local London based campaign with just over 250 signatures which has successfully picked up a signature from the United States (Hawaii), yet another campaign I created in 2024 to reform the US election system has completely failed to reach a single user in the US, with only three signatures from random international locations (Malaysia, Myanmar and the Aland Islands).

Although this campaign is primarily targeted at UK residents since I want them to be aware of the "UK echo chamber" and for them to not trust the 'Global' scope, international users are more than welcome to sign organically and support the cause as they, too, experience their own national currency and IP-address geofencing - we aim to make the platform a better site for users worldwide and ultimately for more campaigns to win!

We definitely have over 100 signatures now (as we hit that milestone on Friday), but keep signing, supporting and most importantly sharing this campaign to other users interested in the cause!

On every instance on change.org, the words 'petition' and 'campaign' should be swapped.

Finally, for petitions between 100 and 500 signatures, every hundred must be recognised, as it is precisely in this range where a lot of petitions stall!
