Hi everyone,

We wanted to update everyone on a couple of meetings coming soon.

The first is a planned community meeting on Jan. 15, 2022 at 2pm. The location is TBD, but will likely be held at town hall. We will share more as soon as we have the information. Recent weather seems to be delaying things a bit. This will hopefully be an opportunity for the community to learn more information about the planning process taken so far on the proposed developments with a facilitator leading discussions.

As of right now, Jan. 18, 2022 is the date for the public hearing on the Bird St and Blenheim Rd developments. A vote for the developments is expected the same night, despite a request from a new council member to vote at a later date in order to process the comments and information provided by the public at the hearing. If you are able, please consider attending the hearing in person or zoom. Arrive early if you plan to speak during the hearing, and remember there will be a three minute time limit on comments. 

Some people have asked if the Jan. 15, 2022 meeting will make a difference. Our hope is yes. While it may not change the votes of some council members, it is an opportunity to show the community is interested and engaged with what is happening in Scottsville. We look forward to learning more about the future of development planned at Bird St and Blenheim Rd beyond the current proposed developments, and perhaps learning how recent land acquisitions and grants may play a part. We hope you will consider attending. If you do want to attend, please let us know.
