Desert Canyon Elementary School is an A-rated school in the McDowell Mountain Ranch neighborhood of North Scottsdale that has maintained a successful Pre-K program through SUSD Community Ed for 5 years.  On Wednesday July 8th, 2015 - 33 days before the first day of school - Central Enrollment notified parents that the Desert Canyon PreK would be closed due to low enrollment.  Eleven out of 15 positions were filled, and this unprecedented early closure has left families at Desert Canyon wondering about the SUSD commitment to protecting and enhancing our enrollment.

We are 4 kids shy of the 15 needed for one PreK class at Desert Canyon, and your signature on this petition will lead Central Enrollment to reopen registration for the remaining weeks before school starts.

Support our neighborhood school -- Show SUSD that Desert Canyon's voice will be heard -- our school deserves the chance to fill a class and not give another neighborhood two classes that are partly filled.
