I have today received a further response from NHS Lanarkshire with an update of the current situation at the Greenhills Practice which I thought you may find of interest. Some of the information you already know, the important additional points being points (4)-(7): 1. The doctors at Greenhills Medical Practice, 20 Greenhills Square East Kilbride, have advised NHS Lanarkshire that they will be leaving the practice on 31 October 2018, they have provided six months’ notice to end their GMS Contract as set out in the relevant GMS regulations. 2. We have written to all patients and held a public information evening on Tuesday 19th June; this was very well attended, circa 200 patients. In both the letter and verbally at the public meeting, we assured patients that the way they currently access medical services, including the doctors, nurses and other practice staff they normally see, will continue in the normal way during the interim period. 3. NHS Lanarkshire have stressed that we are committed to the continuation of care beyond October 2018 and our overriding objective is to ensure the practice continues in its current form but with new doctors taking responsibility for the practice staff and providing primary medical services to patients. 4. The formal process around advertising the practice has been undertaken, in line with legislation, and NHS Lanarkshire has received two formal applications. 5. Applications for this GMS contract will now be considered by a selection panel on Friday 3rd August. 6. The selection panel will be chaired by a NHS Lanarkshire Non Executive Director, it will also include our associate medical director, a senior manager, a representative of Lanarkshire Local Medical Committee. The panel will also include three patient representatives from the practice and a further patient representative from the Health and Social Care Forum. 7. We will keep patients and all key stakeholders fully informed of the outcome of this process. 8. Please be assured that our primary objective is to continue to provide high quality clinical services to the current patients at this practice.
