SBHA have now submitted their planning application for the land at Linglie Road. The development would consist of 26 addordable homes. This new proposal has been more thoroughly researched and thought through than the previous one in 2021, and the plans address the flooding risk and would protect existing trees. There are however still many objections to building on this land, including but not limited to:

• loss of open space
• loss of biodiversity
• detrimental to amenity of neighbourhood
• loss of privacy

There are many brownfield sites within Selkirk which would benefit from development. If our council truly believes in sustainability, they should make every effort to see those sites developed before touching greenfield sites.

We have until 25th October to make comments and objections - so if you are able, please do register on the portal and add your objection!
