We started this petition three years ago and, following that, the original planning application was withdrawn. This was a great victory as the plans were not appropriate for the area, and we are grateful to everyone who signed and those who submitted comments on the planning application.

Last year, however, the land was sold to Scottish Borders Housing Association (SBHA).

SBHA are preparing a planning application for approx 25 2-storey homes. The proposals can be viewed on Tuesday 21st May at the SBHA head office in Selkirk, 4-7pm, and then on their website for a week.

The previous application was 30 units including an apartment block, so although this proposal is slightly smaller scale, it is unlikely that it addresses all the other issues we have raised in the past.

If you are able to attend in-person on the 21st, please do, and come prepared with questions. If not please take a look at the proposals once they are on the website. I will do my best to keep you updated once the proposal is live, and also once the planning application is submitted.
