Tough Penalties for Animal Abusers
The issue
Animal Abuse is the precursor to Domestic Violence Animal Sexual Abuse is the precursor to Child Abuse
Stop Animal Abuse to Stop Domestic Violence
1) Introduce tougher penalties for animal abusers, with an easier system to report
2) Make it mandatory for veterinarians to report abuse (it's ethical but not utilized), and penalties for not reporting
3) Put funding towards Forensic Veterinarian Training (Australia only has one) make it part of the curriculum for all new Veterinary students
4) Training all licensed veterinarians and police to be able to identify and report animal abuse & animal sexual abuse;
5) If someone is suspected of Sexually Abusing Animals - It should be an Immediate Investigation
6) Start a National Data Base of Animal Abusers (Inter-agency access) - Have Data Base the National Reporting of Animal Abuse & Animal Sexual Abuse portal.
7) National Awareness Campaign - link between Animal Abuse and Human Abuse
8) More funding for RSPCA Australia to help facilitate employing more forensic veterinarians
9) Collaborate with international agencies on Animal Abuse and Violent Offender Data Bases
10) Include Family Animals with crisis accommodation for the Victims of DV
11) When a Victim of DV reports Animal Sexual Abuse - it needs to be taken seriously and there needs to be immediate support for that person or family
12) When a juvenile is suspected or found to be the perpetrator of animals abuse - it needs immediate intervention
We can make a difference and STOP domestic violence - by stopping Animal Abuse
We can Make Australia Safe for all Australians
