Petition updatePM must order independent inquiry into historical rape allegations against AG PorterPorter discontinues defamation proceedings

Porter will no longer pursue his defamation action against the ABC and Louise Milligan, the parties having reached a mediated settlement in which Porter recieves no damages and pays his own legal fees (apart from the mediation which will be paid for by the ABC). There is no longer any chance of the Court considering Porter's guilt or innocence in relation to the alleged rape against Kate, and Porter will no longer be able to be give his evidence in front of a Court to put his side of the story on record under oath. For this reason the PM must set up an independent inquiry into the allegations against Christian Porter to determine whether, on the balance of probabilities, he did or did not rape Kate in 1988. If the PM does not call an inquiry, then Porter must be ejected from the cabinet and the wider ministry
