25 Jul 2014
I want you to know that I haven't forgotten each and everyone of our 25,000 supporters. I have been ringing, faxing and emailing to try to find answers to when Abraxane will be signed off by Cabinet. The greatest voice on radio is now behind us all and the response from Alan Jones AO shows so much promise. He doesn't leave a stone unturned this wonderful man, even as he broadcasts from Glasgow: 25 July 2014 Dear Megan, I have written to Peter Dutton re Abraxane and I hope that I’ll receive an early response. No time can be wasted. Kindest regards. With best wishes, Alan Jones AO Secondly, I encourage you all to visit www.Bedsidetobench.com. This amazing organisation lead by Catherine Holliday has supported me, propped me up and lead me in the right direction every step of the way. Their motto is: "Bedside to Bench is a not-for-profit organisation bringing much needed change to the way we think about and conduct medical research in Australia. We support researchers and industry to develop projects that address the most pressing and important clinical problems currently facing patients and their carers – research that has a better chance of making a difference to patients, sooner rather than later, and all the while helping patients to have their voice heard… This is the Bedside to Bench approach. It is not just a ‘once a year’ experiment. It is a significant shift in the way we think about and conduct research in Australia. So at the end of this what do we have? We have research that has a better chance of being translated into the clinic; we have a closer connection between the community, clinicians and researchers; and as a nation, we are spending more money on research that will leave the lab." Thank you all and will email next week with the Health Ministers response to Alan Jones
