As we know the Covid-19 world wide pandemic is still in full force and so are Australia’s border restrictions. 

What’s changed since our petition?

We have had some success with a couple of our skilled visa temporary residents being granted access to travel home to Australia - exceptional circumstances for a man stranded in Bangkok with his whole family in Perth and a lady in Ireland who is a midwife in Sydney. 

We know that the rules in place at the moment are for PR and citizens of Australia ONLY. Compassionate or compelling needs and a handful of desperately required skills are being considered by the government but more needs to be done to send us home. 

Our whole lives await in Australia for us and every day that goes by gets more and more difficult. Australian businesses miss out on our skills, Australian landlords don’t have us occupying their houses and for some who have partners and even pets in Australia truly makes for testing times.

We adhere to the two week quarantine in the state ran centres, we agree to testing, we will do what it takes to return home to Australia.
