TMS saves lives, and it is about to be taken away.

TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) is a quick, pain-free and effective treatment for those living with chronic, medication-resistant depression. This saves and changes lives, but hope is about to be vanish.

Maintenance treatments are necessary to ensure the patient does not relapse back into depression and suicidal ideation. The Australian government has moved to cut off this re-treatment at only 15 sessions through Medicare for the patient’s entire life. After that, there will be no funding at all to have their treatments. This directly puts lives at risk.

As a result, thousands of Australians will relapse back into depression and suicidal ideation. This is a disgusting display of a clear, deliberate decision to save money over saving lives. We demand an immediate withdrawal of this legislation.
