When I posted the last update the goal of reaching 10,000 signatures seemed remote. Now, as the total approaches nearly double that, I thank those of you that have signed so far and hope you will continue to share news of our progress and spread the word of Dr Moore-Gilbert's plight.
But that good news has to be tempered. As with the rest of the world, Iran is struggling with the Coronavirus pandemic. Its' prisons, cramped, filthy and unhygienic at the best of times are breeding grounds for the virus. Many prisoners have been granted temporary release to try and ease the problem, but alas Dr Moore-Gilbert was not among them. Indeed, no news has been heard from her for weeks. These are worrying times.
We can only hope that she remains as safe and as well as her terrible conditions allow. 10,000 prisoners are due to be pardoned by the regime in the coming weeks and months. Let us hope Dr Kylie Moore-Gilbert is one of them. Until then, thank you again, and please, please, do not stop supporting her.
