Dear Readers,

Today I am writing about an important global issue, Climate Change.

However, in this petition, I will be focusing on Australia.

Australia has seen a tough year like every other country, COVID, Fires, etc.

However though we have been dealing with COVID, another problem has been going on with no Problem, Climate Change. In Australia, Climate Change is affecting it. Animals are going extinct and endangered, Trees are being cut down.

Australia is one of the highest contributors to global CO2 levels. As you know, Australia has a gas industry which is a bad factor for our climate, we pay very expensive gas while it is shipped off for way cheaper.  What a ripoff!

Australia has many wonders that are slowly disappearing, The Great Barrier Reef has been poisoned to do drilling for Gas, the same plan will happen for the Bight.

Sea levels are rising and due to Trees being cut down, Koalas are going to go extinct. South Australia is a great example of Climate awareness, they invested in renewables and are set to hit 75% renewables by 2025, thanks to Elon Musk.

If the rest of Australia did what SA did with Elon Musk, it would be a huge improvement. I am sure everyone knows the devastating 2019 to 2020 bushfire season and how it has impacted our climate but the delay to clean energy and Climate Action will ensure a repeat or perhaps a more devastating fire season.

Our burning of Coals is affecting poorer countries such as Timor Lester who have been asking for us to cut down. Can you already not breathe with a mask?

Well if we keep up our way of life, the feeling will be way worse.

Some citizens have begun taking things into their own hands as we have been staying at home and now I am calling on everyone to be more Climate aware and for the Government, to finally acknowledge our issue and do something about it such as cutting down on gas and investing in renewable energy.
