Frank Fielden was the professor of Architecture at The University of Strathclyde; he designed and built a purpose made school of Architecture. This building has become listed, as it was one of the first purpose built schools of architecture in the UK. This school still stands today and has produced award winning architects. The quality of space created is ideal for the study of architecture and although there are flaws with this model, the fundamentals are in abundance. We, the student body feel the proposed premises in the James Weir building will be unfit for the study of architecture and will have detrimental effects on our work, the future of the school and our intake of students to come.
