We as a student body believe we deserve a longer winter break than the current 10 days that were given. The current amount of time we have off of school not only is much different than other surrounding districts, but also barely gives us any time off to see family members or close friends we only get to see during this short lived break. Many students have older siblings returning from college, siblings they only get to spend time with a few times a year. Others may have wanted to travel to see their family members, but with only a ten day break, and with it only starting on christmas eve, the time for travel and to make those trips to spend time with loved ones is cut so very short. We as a student body believe that seeing how most of the administration describes our school, especially its students, as a community, then as a community we should be able to vote and make changes that WE see fit. The highschool tells us that their setting us up for adulthood and getting us ready for the real world, so we as student body should be given this opportunity to make a change that we believe in.
