Scotiabank recently expressed plans to remove their Grand Manan branch, forcing Islanders to travel to the mainland to do something as simple as deposit some cash. Presently, they run the only bank on the entire island. If the bank is removed, it'll disenfranchise an entire community from basic resources and force them to spend hours just to do basic banking.
