For schools to allow longer hair
For schools to allow longer hair
The Issue
Forcing students to cut their hair takes away their freedom of choice and personal expression.
Schools already make us wear uniforms and a male student’s hairstyle or length should be a decision that he makes.
When u force a student to cut his hair , it could affect his ego and self confidence making him not wanting to go out and make him insecure.
The society nowadays are very judgemental and forcing students to cut their hair , directly puts them in a position in which they feel judged by their peers and friends.
Another reason why to support this movement is because girls are allowed to have long hair in schools and making male students cut their hair is fuelling gender stereotypes that in this day and age we are trying to get rid of.
Male students should not have to conform to the stereotypical image of having short hair.(Your hair length/style does not determine your ability to do well in school or life)
Times have changed and it is unfair that students have to follow rules from decades ago.
The concept of toxic masculinity is used in academic and media discussions of masculinity to refer to certain cultural norms that are associated with harm to society and men themselves. Traditional stereotypes of men as socially dominant, along with related traits such as misogyny and homophobia
In conclusion, one students length of hair does not concern other students, or the teacher. It would not disrupt anyone's studies.
Not only does cutting one's hair raises the probability of getting made fun of, it could cause one's self-image to be very bad, thus causing poor mental health.
