School can be mentally taxing and stressful for staff and students alike. A two week long spring break provides much needed time for students, teachers, and administrators to recharge during the busy second semester. Shortening spring break will not only provide less opportunity to relax, but will also cut down on important family time. Many students go on vacation and educational trips during the two week break from school. If spring break is shortened to one week, these students will be missing out on classroom instruction time, which could jeopardize their marks and understanding of topics. It is important to allow adequate time for staff and students to relax away from school in order to ensure they can perform at their best. I believe that keeping a two week spring break will do that.
