Scale Models of the Pennsylvania Railroad E44 Locomotive

Scale Models of the Pennsylvania Railroad E44 Locomotive
The Issue
The PRR E44 was an electric, rectifier-equipped locomotive built by General Electric for the Pennsylvania Railroad between 1960 and 1963. The PRR used them for freight service on the Northeast Corridor and electrified through-freight lines. They continued in service under Penn Central and Conrail until Conrail abandoned its electric operations in the early 1980s. Despite being incredibly versatile, they were later acquired by Amtrak and NJ Transit for passenger service (for which they had never been used), where they lived short lives; all were retired by the mid-1980s. One is preserved at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania. The most notable use of the E44 was for pulling the famous "Tropicana Juice Train" along the Northeast Corridor and through-freight lines.
This locomotive should be available as a ready-to-run scale model. It would be a great benefit to any modeler attempting to model either the Northeast Corridor or just the Pennsylvania Railroad in general.
