This was Sean. Sean was an incredible kid. A genius. A kind, funny, caring soul. Sean also struggled with mental illness. Sean took his life on November 27,2020 after being told to “man up” by a school who knew he struggled with anxiety. Sean should be graduating this year. Instead his mother and family won’t get to see him walk across that stage. They won’t get to take pictures with him and his diploma. They won’t go out to celebrate after. Woodford County High School has told his mother all they will do for him at graduation is place a white rose in a vase on stage. Nothing more. SEANS LIFE WAS WORTH MORE THAN A ROSE. Sean deserves to have his name called. Sean deserves to have a seat placed for him at graduation. Sean’s mother deserves to have closure. Sean’s friends deserve closure. By denying him and his family this recognition the school is denying mental illness. They are refusing to acknowledge mental illness. Which is UNACCEPTABLE. Saving him a seat and calling his name will cost them NOTHING. But will be PRICELESS to his family. How many children do we have to lose to mental illness until it’s recognized and brought to attention more???? WOODFORD COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL YOU HAVE FAILED. MAKE IT RIGHT! Everyone please don’t let this slide by. Please re-share this post, comment on it, email the school, Call the school, Call the board of education. SPEAK UP ABOUT THIS!! RAISE AWARENESS ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH. Look at Sean’s face.REMEMBER HIS NAME! And if you’re hesitant about speaking up just think “what if that was my child...” 

Tell the school this… Sean’s life was worth more than a rose!!!!!! Don’t let Sean be forgotten about at graduation on May 27th!!! SAY HIS NAME!!!
