RT. 29 ADVISORY PANEL MEETS THURSDAY IN WARRENTON

Second meeting will continue work toward improvements in New Baltimore area

CULPEPER — The Route 29 New Baltimore Advisory Group will hold its second meeting in Warrenton on Thursday to continue its discussions about improvements to the Route 29 corridor between Warrenton and Prince William County.

The meeting will be held from 1-3 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors Meeting Room at the Warren Green Building, 10 Hotel St., Warrenton. The meeting is open to the public to observe the discussions, but public comments will not be taken during the meeting.

The advisory panel is comprised of Fauquier County and Prince William County officials and representatives of the business community and the neighborhoods in the New Baltimore and Vint Hill areas. The goal of the group is to develop collaborative solutions that will ultimately become projects to improve safety, ensure access, spur economic development and preserve the corridor as a vital north-south artery for local and long-distance traffic in Virginia.

In addition to Thursday’s meeting, the panel will also meet on Oct. 25 and Nov. 29. In 2019 meetings are scheduled on Jan. 24, Feb. 28 and March 28. All meetings will be held from 1-3 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors Meeting Room at the Warren Green Building in Warrenton.

Meeting agendas, presentations and information about the current advisory group’s work as well as documents from previous studies of this section of Route 29 are available on the Route 29 Corridor, Fauquier County study page on VDOT’s website. The advisory group meetings will be recorded and the videos will be available on VDOT’s YouTube channel and via a link on the study webpage.
