Say NO to the Proposed Zoning By-law Amendment for a Data Centre

The Issue

We, the constituents , respectfully ask Strathroy-Caradoc Council to vote NO to the proposed zoning by-law amendment that would permit a data centre in our community.

A zoning change is the first step toward allowing this type of development. Once the zoning is approved, it becomes much easier for a data centre to move forward. We believe now is the time for our community to speak up.

We chose to live in Strathroy-Caradoc because of its small-town character, farmland, natural environment, and quality of life. We do not believe a large-scale data centre is the right fit for our community.

Residents have raised concerns about the potential impacts on our environment, local infrastructure, water resources, energy demand, traffic, noise, and the long-term character of our township. We believe there are more appropriate locations for this type of industrial development.

This petition is not about opposing technology. It is about protecting our community and ensuring that growth reflects the values of the people who live here.

We urge Council to reject the proposed zoning by-law amendment and preserve the future of Strathroy-Caradoc for current and future generations.
