Say NO to the Philadelphia School District Facilities Plan

Say NO to the Philadelphia School District Facilities Plan
The Issue
The current school district facilities plan raises serious concerns for families, educators, students, and community members across our district. As presented, this proposal threatens to reshape our schools without sufficient transparency, meaningful public involvement, or clear evidence that it will improve educational outcomes for our children.
This plan appears to move forward major changes that could significantly impact where and how students learn. At the same time, many community members still lack answers to critical questions about overcrowding, building conditions, transportation impacts, neighborhood school access, program displacement, and long-term educational consequences.
Most concerning is the lack of genuine community engagement throughout this process. Parents, teachers, students, and residents deserve more than limited presentations and predetermined outcomes. Decisions affecting our schools and children should be made with the community not around the community.
We are asking for responsible planning, transparency, and collaboration. We call on the school district to immediately pause the current facilities plan and begin a new reassessment process.
