Say NO to the Mega Church in Rural Dayboro

The Dayboro Church has applied to Moreton Bay Regional Council to allow 230 people to attend church meetings and youth groups bringing 57 cars 7 days a week from 7am to 10pm on the corner of Mt Mee road and Fingerboard Road in Dayboro Qld. The proposed development includes a large deck outside the old shed, a commercial kitchen, long driveway over an existing flood path and hardstand carpark as well as 7 meter illuminated sign and commercial activities such as an Op shop and coffee shop.
The Church do not intend to mitigate the noise, upgrade either Fingerboard or Mt Mee Road or address the increased flooding or pollution on Fingerboard road this will cause. The land is currently zoned rural residential and surrounded by rural residential properties who all came here for a certain lifestyle.
Council can not be allowed to approve this development. Not only will it impact the surrounding residents but all those that travel through the area. In addition it will set a dangerous precedent for anyone living in Moreton Bay Regional Council in that they cannot rely on council to commit to their own planning scheme. If council approves this development which is seriously inconsistent with the surrounding uses it will force people to seriously consider their votes at the next election.
Note: This petition is not about opposing a church or any other religion. It is the community speaking out to stop re-zoning for a commercial use by a minority group in a rural residential area which is clearly inappropriate and dangerous and will result in unacceptable impacts on the rest of the community.
