Be the voice that shapes your community.   We are meeting with our ward councillors on 12th August.   It would have an impact if they have heard from you even if in brief words your support for this petition.

Please email Orpington ward councillors Pauline.Tunnicliffe@bromley.gov.uk and Kim.Botting@bromley.gov.uk to urge them to support our community protecting our park from the proposed LBB warehouse development

We propose an educational workshop space accessible for everyone. We have had so many wonderful ideas suggested for activities a Community hub could facilitate in our Urban Open Space at Priory Gardens: A story telling circle set in nature. A children's secret garden sensory trail. A small raised bed kitchen garden suitable for all ages and mobilities. An outdoor yoga and movement all weather area. A willow walk. The workshop could host guest demonstrations bug/exotic animal experience. A place for local school children, from schools who have no budget for coach visits, to learn about nature, wildlife and local history. We can host on going local art and photographic exhibitions. With a community centre we can look to grow the volunteer program Friends of Priory Gardens and to encourage young people into volunteering, helping to create opportunities to get involved. Litter picking and caring for our community. We can look to creating connections with local businesses and create job opportunities. Many suggestions for a Park Gym though this should ideal be open to the public 24/7 this can help reduce park crime as well as workshops where people can interact with 'visiting wildlife experts', like those focusing on bird rehabilitation or nature education, can be helpful in reducing catapult crime against birds.
It is equally important to find a suitable location to store Bromley Councils archives.
However the proposed LBB archive warehouse storage unit that is non accessible to the general public and could be located in a place that doesn't diminish LBB's commitment to creating an environment where people can thrive, become more self-reliant, and have access to the support they need to live healthy and fulfilling lives.
