I am so proud of this awesome community we have created.    Supporting preserving living history and demonstrating how important it is for Bromley Council to hep us create new easily accessible facilities that give equal opportunity for all people to experience a daily dose of nature’s health and wellbeing at Priory Gardens Park.    I have worked every day emailing, researching and campaigning.  At times I have been overwhelmed with how much I need to learn and understand about saving Urban Open Spaces, Planning and local politics.

Together with Richard Gibbons, Friends of Priory Gardens, we are doing everything we can to try and sway Bromley Council from their proposed storage warehouse.   I will ask if there is anyone that would feel comfortable about getting more involved in this petition please do let us know.     If you have a few hours to spare or somme skill set or knowledge that could be an asset to our campaign.  Anyone able to help us host a meeting.  Anyone good with photoshop who could create a visual of what we could do with this land.  We would love to hear from you.

Yes LBB need to find a solution as to where to store the archives. It is really important that they are preserved securely and safely for the future. Finding a suitable location is a dilemma. The warehouse that stores the collection will not be open to the public. To view any items you need to book an appointment and go to Bromley Library in Bromley High Street where you can view the items. The artefacts will have been collected from storage, at an on going courier cost by GLL, and transported to Bromley Library, then to be returned to storage. This being said the warehouse, if not on site with Bromley library, could be located anywhere.

There is no benefit on any level, including best for the public purse, in proposing to build the warehouse in Historic England Priory Gardens Park. The loss of this plot of Urban Open Space in Priory Gardens to the community will be a costly unwise mistake in terms of high street development that should compliment the dense high increase of new home building in the surrounding area. Priory Gardens is in the North of Orpington and is the unique historic original birth place of Orpington High Street. Any construction in this conservation area should both compliment and add to the support of its historic importance and the community who live here.

Thank you on half of the community of today and tomorrow.   Once the land is taken it's gone forever.

This action is really important please.  I have been told by LBB  'It's just me protesting'  Just a short email sharing your thoughts x

Please email Orpington ward councillors Pauline.Tunnicliffe@bromley.gov.uk and Kim.Botting@bromley.gov.uk to urge them to support our community protecting our park from the proposed LBB warehouse development
