Say NO to SpaceX in Long Beach

Say NO to SpaceX in Long Beach
The Issue
Employees at SpaceX, including those working in Long Beach have faced a workplace culture marked by sexual harassment, gender discrimination, and retaliation. In 2022, eight employees were fired after criticizing Elon Musk’s behavior and calling for accountability. According to their lawsuit, engineers used crude, sexually explicit language to describe equipment, HR ignored serious complaints, and those who spoke out were punished rather than protected.
If the City allows SpaceX to continue operating on public land despite these documented violations, it sends a message that discrimination and abuse are tolerated in Long Beach. The company’s lease with the Port clearly prohibits discrimination based on sex, gender identity, and sexual orientation. and allows for termination if those terms are violated. Failing to act undermines both the integrity of City oversight and the safety of workers.
Now is the time to act. Former employees have stepped forward. A lawsuit is underway. The facts are public. The City Council has both the legal authority and the ethical responsibility to enforce the terms of the lease. Long Beach must make clear that it will not offer safe harbor to corporations that silence workers and enable abuse, especially not on public land.
Join the growing movement and show our City leaders that Community is stronger than American Dollar. Sign our petition in any capacity you feel safe.
