Say NO to Scientology Seducing State Senators!
The Issue
The Church of Scientology of Washington State is hosting an "evening discussion on human rights" at its Seattle headquarters on Wednesday, and until Monday, a Department of Homeland Security official was scheduled to participate.
Kareem Shora, a senior policy adviser in the Department of Homeland Security's Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, was invited to speak at a Scientology-sponsored event called "Know Your Human Rights!" Still on the bill are two Washington state legislators, Jeanne Kohl-Welles and Maralyn Chase.
Adam Cooper, assistant to Senator Kohl-Welles, has asked that anyone with useful information on Scientology's human rights violations (and other crimes) contact him directly and IMMEDIATELY at 206.353.7007 or write to him at Adam.Cooper@leg.wa.gov with a number he can reach you at.
His exact words were "the sooner the better, thanks! We need to decide."
It sounds like Senator Kohl-Welles might be listening. Let's send her and Senator Chase a message!
"Dear Senators Chase and Kohl-Welles,
It has come to the attention of the Anonymous community that you are
both scheduled to speak at a Scientology-affiliated event in Seattle
this Wednesday. We understand that Kareem Shora, Senior Policy Advisor
of the Department of Homeland Security's Office for Civil Rights and
Civil Liberties, was also invited. Mr. Shora will not be attending,
possibly because he was misled as to the true nature of this event and
the group behind it.
It is our sincere hope that both of you have also been misinformed.
"Washington Volunteer Organizations Active in Disasters" is a
Scientology front group, just like the Citizens' Commission on Human
Rights, Applied Scholastics, Way to Happiness, Criminon, Narconon,
etc. The address for this event is that of the "Church of Scientology
of Washington State" building.
This would be irrelevant but for Scientology's long and very
well-documented history of human rights violations, fraud, destruction
of evidence, perjury and human trafficking. The very idea of a
speaking engagement on such a topic being sponsored by the "Church" of
Scientology is both ridiculous and hypocritical.
Please refer to the following short piece at the address below:

The links within this article provide necessary background information as well.
It is guaranteed that this entire event and anyone in the nearby area
will be recorded. Your words, names and faces WILL be used by
Scientology officials to attempt to show that they have local support.
The timing of this event is no coincidence, as Scientology is failing
to recruit new members and needs to appear strong; 2011 has brought
many of the group's criminal actions to light around the world.
Washington State should neither aid nor provide cover for this group.
Should none of the above information give you pause, please consider this:
If Scientology is truly a religion, the American doctrine of
separation of church and state dictates that this group should not
court politicians.
For all the reasons listed above, Anonymous and many mask-free
citizens would like to request that you to cancel your engagements
this Wednesday.
We appreciate your attention and action!"
