The Issue

Say NO to Paid Parking – Protect Our Community and Economy

As proud members of Southport’s business community, we stand together in firm opposition to the proposed implementation of paid parking in our town.

Southport thrives because of its welcoming charm, local loyalty, and ease of access for both residents and visitors. Introducing paid parking threatens all of that. It will discourage locals from coming downtown for everyday errands, meals, and shopping. It will deter tourists—who are essential to our seasonal economy—from choosing Southport over more accessible destinations.

This is not just a parking issue. It’s a community issue. It’s an economic issue. It’s about keeping Southport vibrant, open, and inviting to all.

We urge our town leaders to listen to the voices of the small businesses and citizens who make Southport what it is. Let’s work together to find smarter, community-friendly solutions. Keep Parking Free. Keep Southport Thriving.
