It cannot be right that members of the UK Government can claim upwards of £10,000 in new expenses each for having to work in their PJ's in the comfort and relative safety of their own homes yet up and down this country Nurses, Hospital Staff, the Police, Bus Drivers, and lots of other key workers are having to try hard to make ends meet on ridiculously low wages and they are regularly turned down for a few percent pay rise, yet they are being asked to literally risk their lives to look after UK citizens. I am disgusted to live in a so called democratic society where this can be allowed to happen, never mind one where the people we have to trust to run our country are the ones making these idiotic and down right disrespectful decisions. This decision should be overturned immediately, or at the very least, the same money should be made available to every Nurse or key worker. I want fair pay for Nurses and Key workers who risk their lives and I want this government to acknowledge that low pay is unacceptable for any blue light worker or key worker that are unable to self isolate because their jobs are required to keep the country functioning in a crisis. Its time that we had a complete overhall of pay scales for our Nurses, NHS staff and Other Key Workers and it must be a sizeable difference so we don't ever again have those people we rely on to save our lives having to resort to using Foodbanks to make ends meet.
