Since it was first announced on 4 October 2022, we are still standing our ground to stop the Reflections Holiday Parks development at Walka Water Works Reserve in Maitland.

 It is still a bad deal for Maitland!  It is ill-suited to Walka's fragile bushland and wetlands environment, and will cost our community so much when we have already lost so much to development.  It gives nothing back to our ecology, our history and our community. 

However, our community of supporters have continued to grow.  Over 3,800 people have signed this online petition, and over 1,100 people follow our Facebook group 'Save Walka Community Forum'. Our strength is our community, and we are assured that our community is strongly behind us.

As a result of our earlier campaign work, Council is now on alert to respond to our queries, and to disclose information publicly.  We have raised awareness of the proposal and of the extent of community opposition with State Ministers, elected Councillors and Council executive.

Maitland Council may submit the Development Application at any moment - when they do we will be ready and will let you know what you can do to help to stop this.
