Earlier this week, The County Council voted on the final option to send to the Government regarding the Local Government Reorganisation.
prior to the election in May, here is what Reform Candidate said on the doorstep and on Social Media.
“
Reform Gedling's position on this, is that we are strongly opposed to any restructuring and would resist any move to unify with the City.
Have no doubt any involvement with the Labour controlled, debt ridden City Council will result in poorer services and less investment. It would also open the door for an expansion of the Workplace Parking Levy, and the Selective Licensing Scheme for Landlords, resulting in higher rents”.
However during the first vote the following votes for or against joining Nottingham were recorded.
Cllr Semens - Against
Cllr Lukacs - For
Cllr Stoll - For
Cllr Brill - For
Cllr Vernon - For
At this weeks vote, the same councillors vote for or against joining Nottingham were recorded.
Cllr Semens - For
Cllr Lukacs - For
Cllr Stoll - For
Cllr Brill - For
Cllr Vernon - Stormed out of the meeting and did not vote.
Despite their election promise, they voted to see Gedling join Nottingham City, not only betraying 110,000 residents but breaking the major pledge they used to get elected.
