LGR Paused!

LGR Update - Locally Labour MP’s in Nottinghamshire are claiming credit for the sudden pause of the LGR.
In a similar vain, Reform are also claiming this as their victory, despite voting to see Gedling and Brotowe join the city. I will credit them for at least sending 1 letter which just answered for answers to various procedural questions.
What both sides forget, is that it was the Conservatives who campaigned against this, sent a letter to the minister to say no and ask for a referendum. The Conservatives also did a petition against this move, that 6354 residents signed.
This petition was set up before Reform got elected and well before Michael Payne MP got involved, in fact it was over 2 years ago.
This victory is not that of our Labour MP’s or Reform Councillors. It’s not even a Conservative Victory. This victory was o my made possible by all those people who live in Gedling and signed our petition.
I would personally likely to thank each and everyone of you.
Kind regards
Cllr Darren Maltby
