Dear Supporter,

There was no scheduled hearing for HB 1705 on this past Thursday however, Representative Matt Shaheen reissued the previous memo on March 3rd, which included the word "Barbers" in the title of the memo.  This request was made due to the interpretation of HB 1705.  The updated memo is below for your review and  you may reach out to his office for your copy.

As of today's date, HB 1705 remains active and will not be withdrawn per Representative Matt Shaheen's office.  I was advised that their office had not received any input from licensed barbers.  The Barber and Cosmetology industry professionals and consumers should continue their efforts and monitor HB 1705 until it has been officially withdrawn or dies and is posted on the Texas Legislature website.  Never consider a memo a victory!  We should continue to focus on the Cosmetology spin off bills HB 2444 and SB 1507 by stressing the importance of Cosmetology education and fighting to "Kill The Bills".  Do Not Get Tired and Go To Sleep!
