Say No to 10m Wireless Poles Outside Your Home! No Consultation, No Consent!
The Issue
Who is Affected?
Residents across Trafford are facing the installation of 10-metre (32.8 feet) metal telegraph poles directly outside their homes—without notice or consultation. These poles emit electromagnetic radiation (EMF) at bedroom window height, potentially affecting children, the elderly, and vulnerable residents. IX Wireless has refused to disclose its future rollout locations, meaning your street could be next.
What is at Stake?
If these poles are installed, IX Wireless will be able to roll out more across Trafford without public input or accountability. These poles are completely unnecessary, as our area already has full fibre broadband infrastructure, including BT’s overhead and Virgin’s underground networks, which any provider can use. This is not about improving service—it is a profit-driven project. Worse, IX Wireless is exploiting a legal loophole—because these poles are under 15 metres, they bypass full planning permission and avoid scrutiny. If this is allowed to continue, they can install poles in more residential streets without warning.
Why is Now the Time to Act?
IX Wireless is scheduled to start work in just two weeks from 7th March. Once these poles are installed, they will be much harder to remove. Trafford Council has confirmed that affected residents should have received letters, but no one has been notified. We still have time to demand full transparency, proper public consultation, and the right to challenge these installations before it is too late. A legal review of this loophole is already happening in Parliament—this is our chance to push for change before these poles spread across Trafford.
Sign this petition today—if we don’t act now, these poles could be coming to your street next.
