Horses are intelligent, feeling and amazing animals. They are used for therapy for children and adults with disabilities, therapy for underprivileged youth by building trust and confidence, law enforcement, used in equestrian competitions, parades, farm work in some parts of the US, and best of all, many are pets. Horses are to be respected and admired. They are to be protected, NOT EATEN! Haven't we, as humans, slaughtered and, in some cases, ended the existence of many, many land and ocean creatures already? We are taking natural habitats away from animals and polluting our oceans and now the President and Congress say, "Go ahead, Americans!! Kill and eat horses! Why not?" I say, "NO WAY! NOT IN THIS COUNTRY!"
