Repairing The Halfpipe at Norton & Malton Skatepark

The Issue

My name is Ryan Swain like many I have been using the Ryedale Skatepark since it began in 2001 over the course of 20 years. It's an asset to the local community and the younger generation within the area.

It's one of the only things in the Malton area left for the younger people to do and go to for free. It promotes multiculturalism, develops social skills, it's a great networking hub for youngsters to meet new friends and learn new skills and also be proactive for free.

Some of the local councillors are still opposing the the halfpipe denying the funding and permission to repair one it's most iconic pieces the Halfpipe. This Halfpipe is one of it's kind originally a display ramp at Alton Towers at one time was the only outdoor one in the UK that was free to use. Professionals have travelled far and wide to have a go on it
 So it has heritage.

The campaign group titled #rescuetheramp and alongside MNAP, members of the public and the action sports community are working closely and hard to save the Halfpipe but we need more of the general public and the local users to stand up with us and speak out on why it's so important and why the skatepark is an asset to the town.

The council are sat on money left over which they could use to help projects like this however I have had to set up a Go Fund Me page to try and raise the funds myself.

I am asking you all to come together with us on this and raise as much money and names as we can as well as awareness to not only repair the ramp and the park but secure it and it's lease for the future generations.

Please SIGN the petition.

Thank you
