Yesterday we posted an update about local curler Phil Daniel and his return home from competition in South Korea.
We misspoke about Phil's events leading up to the Worlds in South Korea. Phil was skipping a rink of curlers out of Leamington's Sun Parlour Curling Club in the Ontario Mixed Senior's Championships, held in Woodstock, Ontario.
Phil and his rink comprised of Jennifer Nugent (lead), Chris Lumbard (second), Charlene Haluk-McMahon (vice) and Robert Amstrong (alternate) made it to the Championship round.
Even though Phil left early for the Worlds in South Korea, alternate Robert Amstrong stepped into the Skip role and lead the team to a 6-3 victory over Allan Rink from Stroud Curling Club.
It just goes to show just how much curling talent there is here in the Windsor-Essex area
