Dear Mr Webb,
Re: Wolverton Works
Facebook postings
We respectfully request that you post this letter on your Facebook page, in its entirety and without
amendment. In the unlikely event that you elect not to post a copy of this letter, Gemini shall bring the
existence of both this letter and previous correspondence from the writer, to the attention of the
Courts as part of any legal proceedings that may be put in place pursuant to any personal injury or
criminal damage that may arise from either yourself or any of your followers entering the site without
authorisation.
We note also your apparent attempts to goad Gemini with your repeated request for evidence
regarding your personal entry to site prior to 6th November. A careful review of our will reveal that our
letter dated 6th November made it very clear that video footage recording future trespass would be
passed to the British Transport Police; doubtless the more astute of your readers will have understood
our reasoning behind requesting you to post that correspondence on your Facebook page.
We find the need to write to you once again in respect of two reasons:
(1) Re-affirm the dangers of entering the Wolverton Works by any means other than the
designated entrances whilst also reiterating our intent to instigate legal proceedings to the
fullest extent possible and/or sue for damages should any future unauthorised access by
either yourself or your Facebook followers necessitate;
(2) Advise yourself and those who read your Facebook page about the timescales for engaging
with the local community regarding the development plans for the Wolverton Works.
Non- authorised entry to Wolverton Works.
You will be aware from your extensive knowledge of Wolverton Works that this site is an operational
railway depot and as such presents a number of significant dangers to pedestrians, arising from
moving rolling stock. For that reason, there is a mandatory requirement for all persons who enter any
part of the site beyond our reception area to receive safety training; clearly any person who enters the
site via non-authorised access points, without our knowledge, will not have received this essential
training. Moreover, the areas of the site that appear to be the focus of pictures on your Facebook
page are derelict, unused buildings, which present significant risks to the casual entrant, potentially
resulting in major injury or death. Contrary to the assertions implied from your regular postings, the
reason for our endeavours to prevent individuals from entering these buildings is quite simply for their
own safety and welfare.
Development of Wolverton works – local community consultation
In line with the assurances that Tim Jenkins gave to you during your personal meeting with him earlier
this year, Gemini will be inviting the local community to engage in a consultation regarding the
proposed development of the site over the course of the next two to three months. In order for us to
have a meaningful consultation it was necessary for Gemini to hold a number of preliminary
negotiations with third parties, and put in place significant levels of background work, including plans
for the new development.
We are now in a position to hold consultations with those factions of the local community who are
genuinely interested in working with Gemini to ensure that Wolverton Works continues to be a
thriving, industrious business. Additionally, we have prepared an inventory of artefacts on the site that
may have genuine historical importance and will work closely with genuine heritage memorabilia
restoration organisations during the consultation process to ensure that these items are preserved for
posterity.
Regrettably, the aggressive tenor of your regular postings on Facebook, together with continued,
negative communications to both ourselves and St Modwen, have done little to demonstrate a
genuine enthusiasm to see Wolverton Works evolve into an efficient, profit-making entity suited to the
21st century business world. Consequently, we have taken the decision that you will not be invited to
participate in these consultations.
Yours sincerely,
Bruce Siddorn
Group Commercial Risk Manager
